CEBU, Philippines – A man died on the spot after he was ran over by a prime mover when he fell off his motorcycle past 3 p.m. last Friday along the national highway in Barangay Lamac, Consolacion.
Police said the head of Manolito Perez, 36, resident of Barangay Jugan, Consolacion was crushed after he was ran over by a Hino prime mover that resulted to his instantaneous death.
Investigation showed that Perez was driving his Honda motorcycle with plate numbers GQ-2071 on his way to Cebu City when the vehicle slipped into a pothole causing the victim to fall from the vehicle.
The prime mover, driven by Alberto Gingco, 62, of Sitio Cogon, Carmen, and owned by Japan International Cooperative Agency which was behind Perez then ran over the victim’s head by its rear right tire killing him on the spot.
Gingco is now in the custody of the police while waiting for the charges to be filed against him on Monday. — Niña G. Sumacot/WAB (THE FREEMAN)
