NBI director reshuffles deputies

CEBU, Philippines - National Bureau of Investigation Director Nestor Mantaring has reshuffled his five deputies effective today.

In a special order dated June 19, Mantaring reassigned deputy director for regional operations services Reynaldo Esmeralda as the new deputy director for technical services, replacing Deputy Director Edmundo Arugay.

Arugay was designated as the new deputy director for comptroller services, replacing Deputy Director Virgilio Mendez, who will be the deputy director for administrative services.

Deputy director for special investigation services Victor Bessat will take over Esmeralda’s post.

Deputy director for administration services Rickson Chiong, on the other hand, will take over Bessat’s place.

Regional director Medardo De Lemos said the revamp will not affect the operations of the regional office in Central Visayas.

De Lemos said it was a pleasure working with Esmeralda, who then headed the regional operations services, describing him as “one of a kind of a deputy director.”

According to De Lemos, Esmeralda’s experience in the field is very helpful in the bureau’s technical services. — Fred P. Languido/LPM (THE FREEMAN)
