CEBU, Philippines - The University of the Philippines Cebu College will be hosting the first fellowship of Christian and Catholic Organizations within the school at 6 p.m. on June 19.
Organizers of the first “Jump Up for Jesus” are inviting not only students from UP, but other youth from all over Cebu and other universities to attend the event, which is free of admission fee and will be held at the UP Cebu soccer field.
Organizers of the activity are from various organizations from UP like the school campus ministry, SIAT- Marian Eucharistic Ministry, Campus Crusade for Christ, Every Nation Campus Ministry, PSALMS and the Youth for Christ.
Therese Grey Grayham, one of the organizers of the activity, said that the idea of the event was brought up when they realized that the different groups in their school had activities of their own and did not have an event together.
“As Christians, it’s sad to see that we are so divided,” she added.
Grayham said the night is not meant to convert anybody to another religion but for a moment where they could all pray together even if they come from different religions.
She said they would have to decide still on long term plans after the event but one thing that they would be doing is to ask for the e-mail addresses of the participants for the coming event so that they would be able to have communication for future activities. — AJ de la Torre/WAB (THE FREEMAN)
