CEBU, Philippines – A Korean national was charged for alleged sexual harassment against a job applicant in the company that he is managing in the municipality of Naga.
A complaint for violation of Section 16 of the Provincial Ordinance 2005-18 was filed by a 25-year-old resident of South Poblacion, Naga before the Cebu Provincial Prosecutor’s Office against Chang Yeon Ji.
The complainant, whose name was withheld by The Freeman, alleged that she applied for accounting clerk at Shiloh International Corporation located in Colon, Naga.
According to the complainant, she was called to Chang’s office on May 23 for an interview. The victim said she was interviewed for 10 minutes by the suspect before he called the head of the accounting section for her to be tested.
The complainant said she went with a certain Eric who taught her about computer and administered her written examination. After the exam, they went back to Chang’s office where Eric recommended for her hiring.
Chang then reportedly ordered Eric to call another employee who will explain to her about her salary. However, while waiting for the employee, Chang allegedly stood up and hugged her very tight.
The victim said the suspect also kissed her lips and touched her private parts despite her resistance. – Fred P. Languido/LPM (THE FREEMAN)
