"Homosexual" found dead inside a cottage in Lapu-Lapu

CEBU, Philippines – A man believed to be a homosexual was found dead with a slashed inside one of the cottages in Hawaiian Village, barangay Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City past 3 a.m. yesterday.

PO1 John Philip Gilmaro of the Homicide Section of Lapu-Lapu City Police Office said that the cottage’s room boy, Melvin Gutierrez, found the victim’s body after curiosity provoked him to check the latter inside his rented cottage.

Gutierrez told police that prior to the incident, the victim checked-in with a young man and a few minutes later, another youngster arrived but only stayed outside the cottage.

He added that he later got surprised when the man who went inside the cottage with Gilmaro went out and ran away together with the other man who was waiting outside and quickly hailed a tricycle and left the place.

What he saw allegedly triggered the room boy to check inside the cottage and discovered the alleged homosexual’s body already bathed with his own blood due to a slash in the neck. — Niña G. Sumacot/WAB (THE FREEMAN)
