CEBU, Philippines – The officer-in-charge of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office, Sr. Supt. Mariano Natuel will remain his post as ordered by Police Regional Office-7 director Federico Terte.
Terte said that they see no reason to relieve Natuel as they are satisfied with his performance.
“We are not relieving Sr. Supt. Mariano Natuel yet because he is doing well in Lapu-Lapu City Police,” Terte said.
His reply came after Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Arturo Radaza sent him a letter last week requesting that Natuel be relieved and Supt. Louie Oppus take over again.
However, Terte said that it is against Philippine National Police rules that an official will be reassigned to a post he has previously held. He said this gives other police officials a chance to handle that office.
Terte also said they do not have a replacement for Natuel just yet. – Christopher Gabriel C. Bonjoc/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
