CEBU, Philippines – The Cebu Provincial Women’s Commission has filed a rape complaint against the treasurer of barangay Monte Alegre, Tuburan for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl last March 29.
The complaint against Aseslao Talaugon, 60, was filed before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office following an earlier complaint before the committee on women and children of the Provincial Board.
The victim and her guardian went to the Tuburan police last April 18 to formally lodge a complaint against Talaugon.
PO3 Eugene Amanence of the Tuburan Police said the girl was reportedly gathering firewood in a forested area near her house when the suspect suddenly appeared and forced her to the ground.
After allegedly raping the girl, Talaugon then allegedly threatened to kill her should she tell anyone of the incident.
The PWC has offered the victim legal and psychological assistance while the child is still in trauma. — Jessica Ann R. Pareja/JMO (THE FREEMAN)
