Call center agents lose cell phones to robbers
CEBU, Philippines – Three call center agents were robbed by motorcycle-riding men early morning of yesterday along F. Pacaña Street of Victor Village in barangay Punta Princesa, this city.
The victims Marlo Gestole, 22; Lawrence Malvas, 27; and Diana Jane Fortugaliza, 27, all residents of Victor Village were robbed of their mobile phones worth around P3,000 each.
The three were from the Convergys at the IT Park in barangay Apas. They took a ride aboard a public utility jeepney in going home to Victor Village in Punta Princesa.
Glenn Garado, a security guard of one of the apartments near F. Pacaña St., said he saw the three disembark from the PUJ near the said village when he noticed of motorcycle-riding men who tailed the three.
Garado said that one of the robbers was medium in built and with a dark complexion. But according to Gestole, “maglisod gyod mi'g ila o timaan nila kay wala man mi motan-aw nila sa dihang gitionan mi'g armas.”
Two of the robbers were armed with a knife, the other with an undetermined caliber of firearm, Gestole added. “Gitabonan pa ilang kamot og labakara,” he told SPO2 Jaime Delmar, desk officer of the Punta Princesa Police Station.
“Naay barangay tanod migukod ug nagpasalba pa sa iyang armas pero wa na gyod maapsi ang mga tulisan," the security guard further said.
Meantime, tanods in barangay Kamagayan arrested the other night a 26-year-old bystander who allegedly robbed two students of the University of Cebu along Pelaez Street.
Edward Bismanos, a resident of Guadalupe, was arrested after a brief chase by roving tanods.
Jimvel Alota, 18, and Kristine Tiro, 17, positively identified Bismanos as the one who robbed them of their cellphones which were recovered by the victims from the possession of the suspect.
