Gold necklace snatched; apartment room burglarized
CEBU, Philippines – A man on board a public utility jeepney lost his Chinese gold necklace to two unidentified men the other day while the PUJ was plying Echavez Street, barangay Day-as, this city.
According to the 21-year-old victim identified as Richard Casinillo, a resident of Sea Breeze in Saac II, Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City, one of two men grabbed his necklace and then ran away while the jeepney was negotiating the Echavez road last Wednesday afternoon. Obviously, the other man served as backup, he said. Casinillo said that the necklace is worth P3,200.
Meanwhile, an apartment room rented by two people from Siquijor province was burglarized yesterday.
Tenants Ainy Aiken Banglos, 29 years old, and Art Boco, 26, are temporarily residing at Door 2 of an apartment located at 37-C Urgello Street in barangay Sambag I.
While the two were away yesterday, an unidentified burglar destroyed the door lock of the said room and took the tenants’ valuables and other personal belongings. The burglary was estimated to have happened from around noontime to past 3 p.m. yesterday.
The burglar took away pieces of clothing, a pair of shoes, a sling bag, shirts, and even undergarments; as well as Banglos’ savings worth P4,800. The stolen items were estimated to have reached over P8,000.
