Digal only given a month in office
CEBU, Philippines - Superintendent Erson Digal, the officer-in-charge of the Cebu Provincial Police Office, will only be serving for a month as his rank is not sufficient for him to be considered for the post.
Philippine National Police rules state that an OIC should serve a maximum of one month and the permanent chief should have a rank of Senior Superintendent.
Digal took over from Sr. Supt. Carmelo Valmoria after the latter was assigned to Camp Crame.
Names of three qualified police officials to take over CPPO were already submitted to the office of Governor Gwen Garcia but she has yet to take her pick.
If Garcia will not choose from among the names given, the Police Regional Office-7 will make the decision for her.
Meanwhile, Digal went to the office of the governor to sign the memorandum of agreement between the PNP and the provincial government for legal assistance.
Digal said that this will be a great help to the police officers in the enforcement of their duties. — Christopher Gabriel C. Bonjoc/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
