Woman claims guards barred her from office

CEBU, Philippines – A woman complained to the police that she was “inhumanely” ejected from the premises of the City Lights Garden Condominium in barangay Lahug Cebu City by some security guards.

SPO2 Elvis Anunciado of the Mabolo Police Station said that Lorena Mabatid, executive assistant to the Board of City Lights Garden Condominium, said that last Saturday morning around 8:30 as she was about to report to work when she noticed new security guards deployed in the premises under Lapu-Lapu Security Agency.

One of them approached her and asked who she was.

The guard also told her that he was a team leader and that they were instructed not to allow anyone to enter the administrative office without a permit from Syntech Properties Inc., the contractor of the condominium.

Mabatid and two more employees of the City Lights Garden Condominium waited outside, later a security guard named Limpag “pushed” her outside the premises.

Around 9 a.m. she was finally allowed to enter, but she received a call from the two who employees who were left outside.

Mabatid then approached the security guards but she heard Limpag shout “pagawsa na diha” referring to her.

Prior to this incident, Branch 6 RTC Judge Ester Veloso released a court order dated February 20, 2009 regarding the damages with injunction filed by the City Lights Garden Condominium Corp. against Syntech Properties Inc.

In the said court order, Veloso said the continuation of the hearing of the application for the issuance of a writ of preliminary injunction, both parties again came up with a new agreement.

The counsels have agreed that the plaintiff (SPI) would be allowed to continue the repair works unhampered.

The plaintiff further agreed that the defendants need not move out of the administrative office and that it would provide the defendants access to the office while repairs are ongoing.

Both counsels further agreed that no locks would be changed and no doors would be locked without consultations with the parties’ respective counsels or through the motion of the court. – Johanna T. Natavio/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
