Three men with weapons arrested

CEBU, Philippines - Three men were arrested by the police after they were caught bringing deadly weapons in sitio Lawis, barangay Luray II, Toledo City, last Friday evening at around 11:55 p.m.

Two of them were identified as Junjie Paras Maasin, 18, of sitio Magic, barangay Poblacion; and Argie Sodom Antopina, 21, of barangay Ibo of the said city.

The other is a 15-year-old whose name is being withheld because of his age.

The team of SPO3 Joseph Mangle, SPO1 Praxilo Albiso, PO3 Benedicto Bobilles Jr. and PO2 Arman Enriquez immediately went to the area after they received information that there were three youths armed with deadly weapons.

After the police officers spotted the three they introduced themselves and frisked the suspects.

A .38 cal. caliber revolver with two live rounds was allegedly taken from the 15-year-old, while an “Indian pana” was confiscated from Maasin and Antopina yielded a twelve-inch kitchen knife. The three youths were then arrested and brought to the police station.

Police believe the suspects are members of a gang and a formal complaint is set to be filed against them today. — Christopher Gabriel Bonjoc/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
