Man charged for death of son, 5
CEBU, Philippines – A man has been charged before the court yesterday for allegedly killing his 5-year-old son last week.
Roselo Minerva, 32 has been charged with parricide after he reportedly killed his son with a .22 caliber revolver in the dawn of March 20. No bail has been recommended for his temporary liberty.
In her affidavit, Minerva’s live-in partner Imelda Perez told police that while she was breastfeeding her twins, the suspect went home under the influence of liquor.
Minerva went inside their room, took a handgun that was placed on top of the television and asked her where was his money.
Perez replied that she did not have anything to do with his money, but he immediately pointed the gun at her and attempted to pull the trigger several times.
Perez told him to put down the gun, “Ayaw taw’n kablit kablit soy kay mobuto na.” But the gun then accidentally went off and hit the head of his five-year-old son who was sleeping at that time together with his other siblings.
The boy died while being treated at the hospital while Minerva was arrested by police following the incident. — Jasmin R. Uy/LPM (THE FREEMAN)
