Four motorists hurt in Minglanilla collision

-

CEBU, Philippines - Four men landed in the hospital after they figured in an accident along the national highway in Lipata, Minglanilla town, around 12:10 p.m. yesterday.

PO2 Avelino Sellora of the Minglanilla police said Rene Gozon, 21, single, a resident of Cortez St., Mandaue City; Joramie Gahol, 31, married, of Motraz Subdivision, Tisa, Cebu City; Alejandro Daulong Jr., of Sangi, barangay Tabunok, Talisay City and Harry Pilapil, 20, single, resident of Ban-ban, Bogo City, sustained only minor injuries and were brought to the Minglanilla District Hospital for treatment.

Investigation revealed that Daulong, who was driving a Nissan pickup with plate number YAC-315; Gahol, a Nissan Terrano with plate number YCM-520 and Pilapil was driving a motorcycle with plate number L-2438, were all heading south, while Gozon, who was driving an Isuzu truck with plate number GFN-401 headed for Cebu City.

As they reached the portion of the national highway in Lipata, Daulong allegedly signaled that he would make a left turn and directly turned left. Gozon, who was following Daulong’s vehicle reportedly tried to step on the brakes but the vehicle did not stop and instead swerved to the left and hit the vehicles driven by Gahol and Pilapil.

The rear of Daulong’s vehicle was damaged after Gozon’s Isuzu truck hit it when it was thrown back.

All drivers only got minor injuries but they were advised by the attending physician at the district hospital to undergo X-Ray and further examination. — Christopher Gabriel Bonjoc/WAB (THE FREEMAN)
