Cops visit office of slain Cebeco supervisor
CEBU, Philippines - Dumanjug police chief Insp. Ricardo Nayne and five policemen yesterday went to the office of Norberto “Roger” Riconalla, the area supervisor of the Cebu Electric Cooperative who was shot dead last Monday.
SPO1 Willer Sayson of Dumanjug police said that based on their investigation Riconalla was in his office in barangay Bitoon of the town around 5 p.m. when the assailant entered.
Witnesses said the man first asked who Riconalla was. When he was told Riconalla was the one seated at a desk the assailant shot him in the head and chest before fleeing.
The assailant was later seen with another man driving away on a blue Honda XRM motorcycle without license plates.
Riconalla was rushed to the South General Hospital in Naga City, but did not get there alive. He had not reported to the police any threat to his life when he was still alive.
Information gathered had it that Riconalla, a resident of barangay Looc, was planning to run for the board of directors in their area.
A source at Cebeco-1 said that the management council met regarding the incident yesterday and then went to the house of Riconalla to express their condolences to his relatives. – Christopher Gabriel Bonjoc/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
