Teen shot dead in gang violence
CEBU, Philippines - A 15-year-old member of a certain gang called the Crips was shot dead while his female friend was wounded by two unidentified men in barangay Poblacion Oriental, Consolacion town, Cebu.
Ronald Pacquiao Sagaysay, a resident of barangay Upper Jagobiao, Mandaue City, was killed on the spot after he was shot twice in the chest while Riena Buscaso, 18, a resident of Consolacion town, was shot in the left arm.
The alleged assailants were unidentified teenagers believed to be members of a certain gang called the Bloods.
Mary Jane Palaguas said she was with the group of Sagaysay when the two teenagers fired at them several times.
“Kalit gyud kaayo igo ra man mi nagkanta-kanta ug ang lain namong kauban nagduwa-duwa og cellphone. Pagbuto-buto nanagan ang uban namo pero natumba na si Sagaysay. Wa gyud mi makaila kay nagtabon man sila sa ilang nawong sa ilang t-shirt,” Palaguas said.
A slug of a .38 cal. revolver was found at the crime scene.
Buscaso was brought to the Eversley Children’s Hospital in Jagobiao, Mandaue City, but was later transferred to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City. – Ramil V. Ayuman/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
