2 marijuana "pushers" fall
CEBU, Philippines - Two suspected drug pushers were arrested the other night by barangay tanods of Lorega San Miguel for possessing at least 40 sticks of marijuana inside the barangay cemetery.
Jufil Flores, 21, and Jefferson Ceniza, 19, all residents of Lorega San Miguel, were spotted by barangay tanods during a routine roving inside Lorega Cemetery.
Thirty sticks of marijuana were confiscated in the possession of Flores, who is believed to be a marijuana pusher in the area, while 10 sticks of marijuana were recovered from Ceniza, who is believed to be a “runner” of Flores.
Barangay tanod Bryan Mabaga said they conducted a roving inside cemetery following reports of illegal gambling initiated by Flores. Aside from the marijuana sticks, the tanods have also recovered paraphernalia for “hantak,” a local gambling game.
“Nakadawat na ta og report bahin sa kalihukan ni Flores. Sa atong pagrekisa ni Flores ug Ceniza na-recover sa ilang possession ang mga marijuana” Mabaga said.
Flores, however, denied they owned the marijuana, saying it was just planted by the barangay tanods. “Planted man to nila, Sir, kay igo ra man nag hantak, ambot asa man to nila ang marijuana,” he said.
Mabaga denied the allegation explaining there were persistent reports that reached them that Flores has been involved in marijuana trading.
“Iya pud na nga aligasyon pero wa gyud mi mag binuang ana diha man gyud na sa ilang possession” Mabaga said. — Ramil V. Ayuman/WAB (THE FREEMAN)
