Farmer shot dead in broad daylight

CEBU, Philippines - A 30-year-old farmer was shot dead by an unidentified assailant while he was walking home from drinking with his friends in barangay Can-aga, Sibonga town, last Saturday around 12:30 p.m.

The victim was identified as Jovenyl Bayon, married, a resident of the said place.

Policemen of the Sibonga police station said that the victim earlier drank with four of his friends in the companions in the house of a certain Leaniza Zarda and was going home. 

The unknown assailant waited for the victim to pass in the said area and immediately shot the victim five times without provocation or warning. The victim was killed immediately.

Responding policemen led by SPO3 Ramon Padilla recovered five spent .45 cal. shells from the crime scene.
