Ship captain found dead in motel
CEBU - A 54-year-old ship captain was found dead in a drive-in motel along V. Rama Avenue, barangay Guadalupe yesterday morning.
The victim was identified as Marino Salazar Montejo, a resident of Kingswood Village, Lipata in Minglanilla town.
Motel employee Reckson Lleve told authorities that Montejo checked into the motel nearly 10 o’clock the other night.
Yesterday morning, he reportedly knocked on Montejo’s room but the victim was reportedly not responding. When he managed to open the door, he reportedly found Montejo lying naked on the bed already dead.
While no injury was found on Montejo, SPO2 Rey Cuyos of the homicide police said it is possible that the victim suffered from a heart attack while having sex, especially after a condom was recovered from the room.
No one, even the motel personnel, could confirm whether someone joined Montejo in the room after he checked in.
Police recovered Montejo’s identification cards, driver’s license, residence certificate, peso and dollar bills, and other pertinent documents from the room. – Bentley Naire Luyong, CIT MassCom Intern/JMO (THE FREEMAN)
