Capitol lends dumptrucks to three towns

Cebu - Three northern municipalities yesterday signed a memorandum of agreement with the Cebu provincial government for the use of dump trucks that could help them improve their services to their respective constituents.

The officials of Carmen, Catmon and Sogod have received keys from Governor Gwendolyn Garcia after the signing of the MOA at the session hall of the Cebu provincial capitol.

Signatories of the MOA were Carmen vice mayor Sonia Pua, Catmon mayor Estrella Aribal and Sogod acting mayor Lissa Marie Durano together with Engr. Adolfo V. Quiroga, chief of the Provincial Planning and Development Coordination Office and Bernard Calderon, officer-in-charge of Provincial General Services Office.

Garcia said the Capitol has recognized the need of the municipalities for utility vehicles for the efficient and effective governance.

The MOA also said that the vehicles could very well answer such need and that their use as efficient utility vehicle would be to the best interest of the all parties.

Every six months, the province and the rightful owner of the mini dump trucks will have a periodic inspection of the vehicles to ensure that they are being used properly.

The officials of the three towns expressed their heartfelt gratitude after receiving the keys of the mini dump trucks, which according to them, would be of big help especially in providing service to their constituents in the mountain barangays. —Johanna Natavio/WAB (THE FREEMAN)
