Rama willing to give fiscal's widow a job
Cebu City Acting Mayor Michael Rama is willing to give a job in Cebu City to the widow of Cebu City assistant fiscal Patrick Ian Osorio.
In a press conference yesterday, Rama said he is willing to accept Julia Rivera Osorio, 34, to work at the City Hall when she is already ready for work.
Julia is five months pregnant with the couple’s fifth child.
“Why not? The best way to help is not through money. The absence or a loss of one will be compensated with a means of livelihood,” Rama said.
City Hall had already employed wives of slain Cebu City constituents such as the wife of The Freeman photojournalist Allan Dizon, who works in the Cebu Office on Substance Abuse and Prevention, and the wife of PO1 Noriel Luage who works in Councilor Augustus Pe’s office.
Rama, however, said that the wives who are already employed are not assured of perpetuity.
“If proven they are not doing their job rightly, then I will also remove them,” Rama said.
He said Julia’s job will be known the moment her credentials will be determined. There are plans of assigning her possibly on detailed service in the same office as her late husband.
Osorio was on his way to fetch his children in barangay Inayawan when he was shot by two men on a motorcycle at the corner of Gochan St. and Natalio Bacalso Ave. last January 7.
