Priest to hold concert for chapel renovation

-

Cebu - A group of Cebu priests will take the limelight as they lead other performers in a fundraising concert organized for the renovation of the Santo Rosario Adoration Chapel.

Cebu Clergy Performing Arts, which is composed of four singing priests in the Archdiocese of Cebu, will be headlining the “Halad sa Konsiyerto sa Santo Rosario” on January 30 at 7 p.m. at the Cebu Coliseum.

These singing priests will perform together with Bishop Julito Cortes and other Santo Rosario priests.

Other performers include the Ulipon Band, a group under the Youth Music Service Devoted to Mother Mary. The Ulipon Band joined the first Metropolitan Gospel Songwriting Festival back 1989 and has contributed a lot of original songs to the charismatic community, the Lord Reigns Music Ministry and the Cherubim Choir.

Grant Dosdos, the best interpreter and grand champion of the Cebu Pop Music Festival in 2006, would also be performing during the concert.

Fr. Jesus Reyes, the coordinator for the Diamond Jubilee Celebration, is encouraging the people to support the concert since the proceeds will fund the chapel’s renovation.

He said the audience will have a grand time to be entertained during the concert because different genres will be played, including the “bisrock songs.”

The concert is one of the church’s activities in celebration of the Diamond Jubilee and a way of giving back to the parishioners who have voluntarily rendered their services for the past years.

Tickets are sold at the Santo Rosario Parish Office and Couples for Christ center and chapters. — AJ dela Torre/LPM (THE FREEMAN)
