City police issue Sinulog advisory

-

CEBU - In anticipation for the huge crowd during the Sinulog Grand Parade this weekend, the Cebu City Police Office has issued an advisory to the public for their safety and for the peaceful and orderly celebration of the festivity.

First and foremost, CCPO director Patrocinio Comendador Jr. told the public to secure their houses before going out to witness the event.

Once outside, people are also advised to make sure that all their belongings, especially their wallets and cell phones are secured.

Comendador further said that the public must bring identification cards with complete information about them. Parents are also advised to have their children wear identifications worn around their necks in case they get lost.

Food and water, extra clothing, medicines (first aid kits), and rain coats as well as umbrellas should also be in hand for the changing weather.

The police official said the public should not smear the participants or the other spectators and should not behave boisterously.

Most of all, Comendador said the people should not bring bladed or pointed weapons, firearms and ammunitions, explosives and other pyrotechnics, liquors and other intoxicating beverages, excessive cash, and wear expensive jewelries when they go out to enjoy the festivities.

As part of the Sinulog security, there will be around eight sectors command posts that will be set tomorrow in the different areas of the city and each sector will be assigned a corresponding public assistance system.

A number of police personnel will also be deployed at the Cebu City Sports Center where a large number of spectators are expected to gather to witness the different contingents perform.

The eight sector commanders will be Chief Insp. Arnel Banzon (09213220808), Sr. Insp. Gibert Abellar (09182409159), Sr. Insp. Renero Agustin (09167003808), Chief Insp.
