3 hurt in separate stabbing incidents
Cebu - Three men were taken to the hospital after they were stabbed in three separate incidents last Saturday in different barangays in Cebu City.
The first incident occurred around 6 p.m. last Saturday in barangay Suba wherein Eduardo Sable, 36, a resident of barangay Santo Niño was stabbed by a certain “Natnat” Aro, a resident of Belgium St.
The victim told police that he was fetching a pail of water with his three-year-old son when the suspect, armed with a knife, suddenly met him on his way back home and stabbed him in the right side of his abdomen before fleeing.
Sable said the suspect started harboring a grudge against him after he turned down a favor asked by the suspect last December, that led to a fistfight between them.
The second incident happened in sitio Mahayahay, barangay Mabolo, shortly before midnight yesterday wherein Robert Suario, 19, of barangay Budlaan, was mauled and stabbed by around ten unidentified men.
The victim reported that after he and his cousin Jonathan Suario attended a benefit dance in the said place, they walked home and decided to pay a brief visit to their two relatives who just lived nearby. On their way there they passed a group of men who suddenly attacked them.
Jonathan was able to run away and tell the victim’s mother what happened. She took the victim to the hospital due to stab wounds and bruises on his right arm, chest, back and left ear.
The perpetrators have yet to be identified and arrested.
Around 12:20 a.m. yesterday at Garfield St., barangay Suba, a certain Eduardo Daan, 25, a resident of the said place was stabbed by his neighbor, Ariel Escobido, 31.
The victim said he was drinking with some relatives and friends beside the Suba Sports Complex when the alleged assailant came, already drunk, and asked him about the disappearance of the logo from a barangay car parked nearby.
The victim further alleged that he answered the suspect that he was also looking for it but the suspect suddenly got angry and stabbed the victim in the chest with an ice pick.
The suspect’s cousin Rochie Escobido, intervened and tried to pacify the commotion but the alleged assailant immediately fled.
All victims were taken to Cebu City Medical Center where they were treated. —Niña Chrismae G. Sumacot/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
