Worker found dead at construction site

CEBU - A construction worker was found dead early yesterday morning at a construction site in Golden Meadow Subdivision in Cordova town.

The victim, Joji Paloma, was found by his fellow construction workers around 6 a.m. already bathed in his own blood. Responding policemen also recovered a bloodied piece of wood and Paloma’s mobile phone at the crime scene.

As of yesterday, authorities are taking the lead on another worker, Isagani Caballes alias “Toto,” who was the last one seen with Paloma and who reportedly disappeared when the crime was discovered. Caballes is a resident of PC Hills in Cebu City.

Investigation revealed that Paloma and Caballes went to a drinking spree at the house of a certain Gerald Vincent Sitoy the other night. After that, they reportedly went back to the construction site and slept.

Aside from being together the night before the incident, no incident of conflict was reported between Paloma and Caballes.
