Guadalupe lechon dealer receives death threat
Cebu - The owner of Helen’s Lechon in barangay Guadalupe yesterday sought the help of police after a death note was left at the gate of her residence in Zodiac Ville, barangay Guadalupe.
Helen Ramin told homicide police that the note may be related to the shooting of her business rival Methusael Inesola, owner of Nethus Lechon, last New Year’s Eve. Ramin’s son, Junard, was tagged as suspect in the killing and is now detained at the Cebu City Jail.
Also arrested were Diosdado Ortega and Jackie Trazona, both confidential agents of the Regional Anti-Illegal Drug Operations Task Force. Another suspect, Yuli Ramas, eluded arrest.
The note, printed on half of a beige folder read, “Bawsanay lang ta!!!” and came with a logo of a local funeral parlor. A neighbor of the Ramins said two men on a motorcycle left the note about 2am yesterday.
Helen said she was forced to seek the help of authorities because the note brought fear and anxiety to her and to her children.
In a related development, city police chief Patrocinio Comendador yesterday said the owners of the two businesses have sent feelers to participate in a dialogue after Methusael’s burial later this month.
The other day, the lawyer of the Inesola’s family said they will be asking the National Bureau of Investigation to conduct a parallel probe to determine the possible involvement of a policeman in the crime.
Lawyer Inocencio dela Cerna said they will ask the NBI to investigate the possible involvement of Police Office 3 Kent Yngayo in the murder. This after Ortega and Trazona were arrested inside Yngayo’s house located only a few meters away from the place of the victim.
But Yngayo was not included in the murder and frustrated murder complaints filed by the police before the prosecutors office because of lack of evidence that would link him to the crime. — Niña Chrismae G. Sumacot/JMO (THE FREEMAN)
