Cop may face raps for obstruction of justice
CEBU – A policeman assigned to the Police Regional Office-7 Logistics Division may face charges for obstruction of justice, harboring of criminals and illegal possession of firearms after two men accused of killing a lechon vendor last Wednesday night in sitio NGA, barangay Lahug were found in his house during pursuit operations.
Last Wednesday, Methusael Inesola was shot dead by three men while she was attending to her business.
Witnesses said two of the alleged assailants, Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group-7 confidential agents Diosdado Ortega and Jackie Trazona, ran to the house of Yngayo after the incident.
Responding policemen confiscated a .45 cal. pistol from Ortega and a Frontier revolver from Trazona. Both had RAIDSOTG-7 agent IDs but had no license or permits to carry guns. A KG-9 machine pistol was also found in the house of Yngayo.
City police Homicide Section chief Sr. Insp. Mario Monilar said they will also try to find out if it was true that Yngayo kept on asking the daughter of the victim where her mother was and who she was with before the incident happened.
They are also finalizing the case murder against the three assailants.
