CEBU - The fact that it was Christmas Day did not deter two robbers from victimizing two women on a passenger jeepney heading to Basak, Cebu City, from Naga City along Natalio Bacalso Ave. corner Bontores St.
The robbers were described as in their early 20s and slim. They boarded the jeepney in barangay Pardo and one of them pulled out a knife and announced a robbery upon reaching a dark portion of the road past 9 p.m. last Thursday.
There were six passengers in the jeepney but only Jocelyn Azarcon, 41, of Felina Village, barangay Tisa, and Nathennet Cavada, 33, of barangay Basak-San Nicolas, were robbed.
Azarcon lost P8,000 and her cellphone while Cavada also lost her cell phone and P7,000.
“Ako na lang gihatag kay gitionan na man ang akong kilid sa kutsilyo,” said Cavada, who is expected to leave on Sunday for Japan.
— Ramil V. Ayuman/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
