2 dead, 3 hurt in disco brawl
CEBU - Two brothers were killed and three other men were wounded when a commotion broke out during a benefit dance in barangay Magsiko, San Fernando town early morning yesterday.
Police said Jomar Villariasa, 23, single and resident of sitio Matin-aw, barangay Tongo died on the spot due to fatal gunshot wounds while his brother Magno, 28, died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The fatalities’ other brother, Michael, 19, is still in critical condition and is now confined at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center together with a minor relative and a certain Rico Paradero, 23, a farmer.
The assailants were identified as Tomas Sebial Flores, 33, a habal-habal driver, and Marciano Paradero Manayon, 22, a farmer, and both residents of sitio Luna, barangay Matin-aw.
SPO1 Francisco Salubre of San Fernando Police Station said that prior the incident, a minor relative of the Villariasa brothers had a heated argument with the two assailants while in the middle of the dance floor.
When Manayon boxed Jeffry on the neck, the Villariasa brothers allegedly tried to pacify but Flores immediately pulled out a handgun and shot the brothers.
During a hot pursuit operation, police officers arrested the assailants who are now detained at San Fernando Police Station while waiting for appropriate charges to be filed against them by the relatives of the victims.
Salubre said that the assailants were already submitted for a paraffin test yesterday. — Christopher Gabriel Bonjoc/WAB (THE FREEMAN)
