Barangay tanod stabbed during benefit dance

CEBU – A barangay tanod of San Isidro in the town of San Fernando landed in the hospital after he was stabbed by a man during a benefit dance around 10 p.m. last Saturday evening.

The victim was identified as Antonio Dedicatoria, a resident of the place, while the suspect was identified as Marjun Duhaylungsod, a resident of barangay Ilaya of the town.

PO1 Miguel Bernabe of the San Fernando Police Station said the victim and a fellow tanod were monitoring the security of the benefit dance when they noticed the suspect bringing a bladed weapon.

The victim approached the suspect to confiscate the weapon but the latter immediately stabbed him instead, hitting him in the back.

The victim was immediately taken to the hospital while the suspect fled after the incident.
