P13M lost to "inheritance syndicate"
CEBU – At least six people were duped by an alleged group of swindlers involved in inheritance syndicate, victimizing them of around P13 million.
Ressi Abucay, who invested P6 million, identified Paz Mabanag Abastas, 60, as the one who misled them that her daughter, who was “adopted by a prominent and retired government official during Marcos’ time has millions of pesos and US dollars as inheritance.”
Nitoo mi nga duna gyoy dakong katigayonan kay gipakita man mi niya sa Last Will nga dunay share ang bata,” she added.
Abucay said that Abastas promised them “10 percent on their investments” as soon as the court decides in favor of her child, as legally adopted daughter. — Ramil V. Ayuman/MEEV (THE FREEMAN)
