Suspected drug pusher charged

Cebu - An alleged drug pusher was charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act after he was caught selling drugs during a buy-bust operation last December 12.

Felix Borla was arrested in his house at Villagonzalo Street, Tejero, Cebu City by the operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency who recovered a pack of shabu from his possession.

According to Police Officer Cirilo Luage, Borla and his wife Merly became targets of their buy-bust operation after they received reports of alleged rampant drug trade in the area.

Prior the arrest of the suspect, Luage went to the place together with an informant who introduced the policeman to the couple as the “buyer.”

Upon reaching the house of the couple, Luage told Felix that he is interested to buy shabu at P200.

Felix then instructed Merly, who was at the main door at the time serving as a look out, to give him the pack of shabu.

When Merly handed over the illegal drug, Luage immediately made a call to his companions signaling the arrest.

PDEA operatives were able to corner and arrest Felix but Merly was quick to notice the presence of the police officers and was able to escape. — Jasmin R. Uy/WAB (THE FREEMAN)
