CEBU - Controversial businesswoman Alma Gonzales yesterday tagged a judge and a high-ranking police officer as the ones responsible for the embarrassment she is now facing following the recovery of 15 allegedly stolen vehicles by the Police Regional Office and Highway Patrol Group.
Gonzales, who was earlier accused of selling stolen vehicles, alleged that the judge who was her business partner for a year might have been the one who instigated the carnapping scenario after she refused to sell to her a car for P100,000 last October.
Gonzales said she did not agree with the amount because she wanted the judge to buy the car for P150,000.
However, the judge allegedly threatened that something would happen to her and might have approached the high ranking police officer and suggested the carnapping scenario to him.
Gonzales also alleged that the police officer is mad at her because she refused to give him a Chevrolet Captiva last year.
Last December 3, the HPG-7 flagged down a Toyota Innova at the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City allegedly for absence of a sticker of the Land Transportation Office for CY 2008 and alleged illegal transfer of LTO-issued license plate.
The car’s driver, Crispin Causon Jr. presented photocopies of the car’s registration documents but there allegedly were inconsistencies in the documents, which prompted the HPG to seize the vehicle.
Further verification also revealed that the actual engine and chassis number are among those on the list of stolen motor vehicles covered with radio alarm dated April 28, 2007 issued by HPG/TF Limbas Camp Crame, Quezon City.
The alarm was issued after a certain Rosana Dela Riva, representative of one Virgilio Hizon, reported that the vehicle was stolen.
In an interview, Causon admitted that the Innova was sold to him by Gonzales but in a press conference, Gonzales said the subject vehicle is owned by a certain Mariana Vita and not by Hizon.
Gonzales said she will answer all accusations against her before the court, adding she has all the documents of each car she has bought and sold. — Niña Chrismae G. Sumacot/JMO(THE FREEMAN)
