City council okays P61.3M final supplemental budget for 2008
CEBU - The Cebu City Council recently approved a P61.3 million supplemental budget, the fifth and last supplemental budget for 2008.
Of the P61.3 million, P23,266,902 will go to the city’s General Fund while P37,629,600 will go to the Special Accounts.
Additional funds for the General Fund came from a realignment of the 2006 budget and from a retained surplus in 2007. Meanwhile, additional funds for the Special Accounts came from retained operating surplus in 2007 and from the Local Development Fund.
The fifth supplemental budget also includes a P4 million aid to barangays and for purchase of vehicles for the use of the Department of Public Services. Likewise, the supplemental budget includes a P17-million budget for the two backhoes for the City Disaster Coordinating Council.
Only last month, the council approved a P40-million supplemental budget, which covered the salary differentials for city hall employees for nine months.
