Cebu - A motorcycle-for-hire driver was shot dead by an unidentified man in sitio Pagutlan, barangay Tayud, Liloan at around 7 a.m. yesterday.
Isidro Garbo de Gracia, 26, sustained fatal gunshot wounds to his head and leg that caused his instantaneous death.
PO3 Ricardo Enriquez of Liloan Police Station disclosed that the victim was sitting on a bench under a waiting shed when an unknown man, who was riding a red motorcycle with its plate number covered with a carton, disembarked and suddenly shot the victim on the head.
When the assailant was about to flee, he fired at de Gracia again, hitting the victim in the left leg.
Police said the suspect, who stands at about five feet and six inches, wearing a blue jacket and white cap, then fled towards Liloan proper.
Enriquez died on the spot and was brought to Cosmopolitan Funeral Homes.
Responding policemen recovered a .45 caliber pistol with three empty shells from the crime scene.
Elements of Liloan Police Station under SPO1 Dennis Malinao are still conducting further investigation into the incident to identify the perpetrator and to determine the motive of the crime. — Bentley Naire Luyong (THE FREEMAN)
