CEBU - The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-7 received a commendation from the City Council for arresting two women pushers in a raid that netted 100 grams of shabu.
In a resolution sponsored by Committee on Peace and Order head councilor Augustus Pe, nine policemen were commended including their head Sr. Supt. Guillermo Eleazar for arresting Chuebe Lim and her accomplice Grace Alejandrino last month.
Lim, 53, was arrested in her house at Monterazzas de Cebu, barangay Guadalupe, while Ebrada, 44, was arrested below Lim’s village.
Seized from the two women were a total of 108 grams of shabu valued at P1.05 million aside from P10,400 cash suspected to be drug money.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Anti Dangerous Drugs Law were filed against the two.
According to Pe’s resolution, the two women were considered big catches and accomplishments in the campaign against illegal drugs.
Named in the commendation are Chief Insp. Rogarth Campo, the team leader and members SPO4s Arsenio Maglente and Edmund Junco; SPO2s Delfin Bontuyan, Gilberto Banate and Teofilo Juanata; and SPO1s Roel Leyson, William Selibio and Pablo Gentalian.
Eleazar said he is thankful for the commendation saying it will inspire them more to extensively pursue the fight against illegal drugs. — Ferliza C. Contratista/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
