PDEA female asset shot during buy-bust
CEBU – A female asset of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency was shot by unidentified persons Friday night shortly after PDEA arrested a mother and son for possession of shabu.
PDEA-7 spokesperson Jessie Tabanao said their team was pulling out from sitio Bato Carbon, barangay Ermita where they conducted a buy-bust operation Friday night when the suspects fired at them and hit Bernabe Española on the back.
Española, 46, of Calatraba, Bohol is now recuperating at the Chong Hua Hospital after undergoing an operation the other night.
Tabanao said the agents fired back but the suspects were able to flee.
Witnesses said three people were behind the shooting and is it possible that they were relatives of the arrested suspects Ma. Lilia Entera and her son Sherwin.
PDEA seized 10 medium-sized packs and two small packs of white crystalline substance believed to be shabu from the suspects. The homicide police are now investigating the incident. — Niña Chrismae G. Sumacot/JMO (THE FREEMAN)
