Jojemar Sanchez who won in the division level of the Population Quiz held at the Lapu-Lapu City Health Office represented the Pajo National High School in the regional Population and Essay Competition in Tagbilaran City, Bohol from October 2-3.
The competition with “Population Development for the Youth” as a theme was participated in by the various divisions from Region VI – cities of Bais and Bayawan, Bogo, and Bohol province; Carcar, Cebu City, and Cebu province; cities of Dumaguete, Lapu-Lapu, and Mandaue, Siquijor, Talisay City, Tanjay, Toledo City, and Tagbilaran City which is the host division.
On the first day, the organizers elaborated on the population status of the country. Also, overseas labor migration and the state of the population report were discussed. The following day, the pop quiz which was the highlight of the event was carried out.
As an added spectacle, participants and coaches got the opportunity to tour the Bohol countryside through a familiarization of the Chocolate Hills in the town of Carmen, as well as the Loboc River.
“This competition has truly enriched my awareness on the population condition of our country and has broadened my views on the Reproductive Health Bill,” Sanchez said. (PR) (THE FREEMAN)
