Man stabbed dead on All Saints Day
CEBU – A 26-year-old man met an untimely death last All Saints Day after his neighbor hacked him in the head and stabbed him several times in the abdomen.
Authorities found Luisito Ybañez sprawled lifeless outside his house in sitio Kabularan, barangay Basak Pardo, last Saturday with several wounds on his abdomen and head.
Ybañez’ neighbor, Dimmy Emmi, 34, told investigators the victim had a heated argument with the suspect, Jose Abrazando, 32, past 4 p.m. Saturday regarding personal matters.
Later, Abrazando reportedly went back to his house and came back with a bolo and a kitchen knife. The suspect used the 10-inch knife to stab Ybañez on the abdomen and then used the 18-inch bolo to hack the victim on the head.
The suspect later voluntarily surrendered to their neighbor, Junard Chiong, a member of the city police Special Reaction Unit. The weapons used in the crime are also now with the police.
