Woman charged for illegal drugs

CEBU - A woman was charged for violation of Section 12 of the Dangerous Drugs Act before the Regional Trial Court yesterday after she was arrested by policemen for having drug paraphernalia last October 24.

Abaquita was arrested in a saturation drive by the Talisay City police after she tried to escape with a group of men.

In his affidavit of arrest PO3 Rey Bucao said that Abaquita was with some other men who ran away when they saw policemen approaching them in Tangke, Talisay City. They eventually cornered her in an alley.

Abaquita allegedly tried to throw away two rolled tinfoil sheets and tissue paper when she was caught by the police.

She is now detained at the Talisay City Police Station stockade. Talisay City Prosecutor Marshall Rubia set her bail at P100,000. — Jasmin R. Uy/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
