CEBU - Issues on food, energy, peace and security will be the highlight of discussion of the members of Regional Association of Development Information Officers in Central Visayas during their 18th regional convention from November 5 to 7at Golden Prince Hotel in Cebu City.
With the theme “Information Officers as Advocates of Food and Energy Sufficiency towards Peace and Security,” the event aims to equip information officers of local government units and national government agencies the knowledge on various programs, especially those that gear towards the attainment of food and energy sufficiency.
Guests during the convention include Deputy National Security Adviser Luis “Chavit” Singson, who will speak on the government’s Internal Security Plan.
Presidential Management Staff chief Cerge Remonde will also speak on Food Security Program, Department of Energy director Antonio Labios on the Philippine Energy Plan and Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia on the Sinanduloy Project.
To upgrade their skills, participants will undergo a workshop on photo and video editing during the three-day activity.
During the second day of the convention, Vice Governor Gregorio Sanchez Jr. will induct the new set of RADIO-7 officers.
On the third day, there will be a tour by participants at the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center, Museo Sugbo and the Cebu International Convention Center.
The convention is hosted by the Cebu Association of City and Municipal Public Information Officers in coordination with the Philippine Information Agency-7. – Gregg M. Rubio/LPM (THE FREEMAN)
