Texter sends bomb threat to LTO

-

CEBU - An unidentified texter claimed that the Land Transportation Office-7 would be bombed on Sunday morning, a threat later found to be empty.

Cebu City Police Office chief Sr. Supt Patrocinio Comendador confirmed that Supt. Marciano Batiancila, chief of Cebu City Traffic Divisions, received a report about the text from City Traffic Operations Management chairman Arnel Tancinco.

Tancinco said last Sunday a traffic enforcer told him he received a text message that that LTO-7 will be bombed that day.

Tancinco then forwarded the said text message to Batiancila and the CCPO immediately deployed personnel to the said department to assess the situation. A search for a bomb yielded nothing.

Comendador said there is a big possibility that the text message came from a driver who was angry after being apprehended by personnel of the LTO-7 for some misdemeanor or infraction.

Comendador said that they are currently coordinating with of LTO-7 officials regarding security matters. — Niña Chrismae G. Sumacot/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
