CEBU - A criminal complaint for murder was filed against a man before the provincial prosecutor’s office on Friday for allegedly killing his friend last September 15.
Erwin Francisco, who also goes by the alias “Kitong”, was charged with murder for killing Argie Abrinica inside a used clothing stall in Ronda town.
One of the witnesses, Armando Balanzag, said Abrinica was drinking with his friends that night when the victim excused himself for a while as he will be buying poached egg and coffee because he was hungry.
Abrinica allegedly joked that Francisco will be the one to pay his bill for the egg and the coffee but the latter reportedly answered: “Sayon-sayon man lang ka brod.”
Balanzag said that he never knew if the two had an argument but he could remember that Francisco embraced Abrinica while stabbing him several times.
The witness said the victim was still able to run but the suspect went after him and stabbed him again, killing him instantly. —Jasmin R. Uy/WAB (THE FREEMAN)
