Bicolana jobseeker suffers heart attack

CEBU - A woman believed to have suffered a heart attack died while seeking for employment in barangay Talamban yesterday dawn.

SPO4 Alex Dacua of the Cebu City Police Office Homicide Section said that Myrah de los Santos, 24, single, from San Juan Daan, Sorsogon was found lifeless inside the residence of Merenisa Pumar in sitio Hillside, barangay Talamban.

Before that, Dacua received a call from a neighbor of Pumar on a dead person alarm in sitio Hillside past 2 a.m. yesterday.

According to Pumar, who is currently employed as househelp at the posh Maria Luisa Estate Park in Banilad, de los Santos arrived that night at her residence to ask assistance in getting employment as helper.

Pumar said she does not know de los Santos personally as the latter was introduced to her by a friend just recently.

Pumar narrated that while talking to de los Santos on the prospect of her getting hired also in Maria Luisa, the woman reportedly “suddenly had chill bouts and fainted”.

When Pumar and some neighbors checked on her, de los Santos was said to be no longer breathing.

Dacua believes the woman may have had a heart attack or a lingering disease as they have not seen any proof of foul play.

The body of de los Santos was taken to a funeral parlor. Pumar said she is trying her best to establish contact with any of the woman’s relatives. — Ferliza C. Contratista/MEEV (THE FREEMAN)
