Cebu City Fire Marshall Ismael Codilla is filing an injunction in court in his bid to lift his three-month suspension.
Codilla said he is exerting all efforts for him to return to his previous post, believing that the charges lodged against him were just purely harassment and without any basis.
Codilla was preventively suspended since last month after he was charged administratively for his alleged failure to liquidate the fuel allocation of the Cebu City Fire Department.
“Nisang-at ko og injunction kay harassment ra man gud ning ilang gihimo. Bisan tuod ug preventive suspension ra ning atoa, pero para nako silot man gyud ni,” Codilla said.
Codilla is optimistic that the court will rule in his favor as he already answered all the charges lodged against him. He even presented the liquidation of the fuel allocation.
Codilla pointed out that the one who is allegedly pushing for his suspension is Senior Eleuterio Iturriaga, the former regional director of the Bureau of Fire Protection.
Iturriaga was, however, ordered relieved of his position last month and was transferred to Manila.
He was replaced by Senior Superintendent Aloveel Ferrer. — With reports from Elly Bolonos of Banat News/LPM (THE FREEMAN)
