2 minors, 6 others arrested in bar fight

-

CEBU – Two minors and six others are now detained and facing charges of malicious mischief after they figured in a fight at the 2nd floor of Club Pump 2, Mango Avenue, Cebu City early morning yesterday.

PO1 Rosalyne Kilakila of the Fuente police station said the two minors, both aged 17 and residents of barangay Labangon, were with the group of James Yaban, 19, also of Labangon; Metanie Ebrado, 23; Raymund Mangubat, 23, and Leyson Bacayan, all of barangay Camputhaw.

They figured in a fight against the group of Darwin Cruz, 30, married, and resident of Poblacion, Talisay City, and John Paul Daan of Tangke, Talisay City.

Members of both groups were arrested after Niño Villarubia, the supervisor of the said disco pub, called the police assistance.

Investigation showed that a heated argument between the two parties led Cruz to allegedly throw a beer bottle towards the other group.

Yaban’s group retaliated and threw back another beer bottle that hit and injured four other youngsters who were taken to a hospital in the city.

After receiving the alarm, elements of Fuente police station responded and arrested the six suspects. Charges for malicious mischief resulting to damages and physical injuries will be filed against them today.

Police said they are still trying to ascertain if the two camps are involved in gangs or fraternities.

Kilakila said the representatives of Club Pump claimed that due to the incident, they incurred damages totaling to P60,000 representing the broken swing glass door that amounted to P40,000, beer bottles and other drinking liquor worth P15,000 and losses amounting to P5,000.   — Niña Chrismae G.
