Dead fetus found in bottle

-

CEBU – Beachgoers at sitio Cuacohan, barangay Dunggoan, Danao City, made the grisly find of a dead fetus placed inside a mayonnaise bottle while they were enjoying the waters last Friday.

Saldy Batucan Gomez said he found the bottle floating in the sea, when he brushed aside the plant growth that had obscured the bottle he found that bottle contained a fetus.

Gomez was with his family and friends taking a dip at the beach when they came upon the bottle.

He then reported the matter to Danao City Police Station who then took custody of the fetus then later had it buried it in a cemetery in barangay Taytay.

The fetus, estimated to be five months old, was suspected to have been aborted.

Police are conducting intelligence gathering in order to identify a possible abortionist in the area or any woman who was suspected to have had the baby aborted from her womb.

Just last week, the body of a newly-born baby girl was found left at a bus in Badian town, believed to have been strangled dead with a piece of cloth that was found with her.

According to police statistics, an average of two fetuses are found dumped mostly in garbage areas each month. – Ferliza C. Contratista/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
