Minor, alleged fratmen nabbed for having gun

CEBU – A minor and his four companions are facing charges of illegal possession of firearm after a policeman spotted the minor holding a gun early morning yesterday in barangay Lawaan I, Talisay City.

Companions of the minor who are now detained were identified as a certain “Baby” Chua, 20; Monching Pantilog, 18; Danevay Cañada, 18; and Crisanto Rayno, 24, all residents of the said barangay.

PO2 Harrison Quiñanola of the Talisay City Police said that he was conducting a roving patrol in the area when he saw the minor, together with the other four young men, holding a .38 cal. revolver.

Quiñanola said that he approached the suspects and later found out that the gun had no bullets. He then called for assistance from his colleagues in taking the five suspects to the police station.

The minor and Chua are alleged members of a fraternity that was not named.

They are temporarily locked up at the detention cell of the Talisay City Police Station and are charged today for illegal possession of firearm. – Niña Chrismae G. Sumacot/MEEV (THE FREEMAN)
