CEBU - A case for Illegal Possession of Firearm was filed against a 17-year-old boy after he was caught with an unlicensed firearm during a saturation drive last Sunday in barangay T. Padilla.
The suspect is now detained after he signed a waiver of detention pending preliminary investigation following the complaint for violation of Republic Act 8294 or the Illegal Possession of Firearms filed against him.
The saturation drive was conducted by members of the Parian Police Station in response to an alarm from barangay T. Padilla regarding someone brandishing a .38 caliber revolver.
Earlier, James Villarida, 19, a resident of Back Rubber, barangay Basak-San Nicolas was also arrested for possession of a .38 Smith and Wesson snub nose revolver. Villarida is a member of the Crips gang. — Niña Chrismae G. Sumacot/JMO (THE FREEMAN)
