Man charged for stabbing friend dead
CEBU – A man was charged with murder before the Provincial Prosecutors Office on Friday for reportedly killing his friend on the night of September 15.
Erwin Francisco, alias “Kitong”, was charged with murder for allegedly killing Argie Abrenica inside an “ukay-ukay” stall in Ronda town a week ago.
According to a certain Armando Balansag who saw the incident, Abrenica was drinking with his friends that night when he asked them to excuse him for a while as he is starving and that he will be buying poached egg and coffee.
Abrenica then joked that Francisco will take charge of footing the bill. But the joke angered Francisco who snapped back “sayon-sayon man lang ka, Bord.”
Balansag said he is not certain if the two had an argument. He said that all he could remember is that Francisco seemed to have embraced Abrenica first before he stabbed him several times.
Balansag also said that the victim had managed to run, but the suspect had caught up with him, and then stabbed him to death. — Jasmin R. Uy/MEEV (THE FREEMAN)
